Margaritaville Finally Opens

And the Original Head Parrothead In Charge was there to kick it all off. Jimmy played for about an hour at five o'clock (fittingly), welcomed everyone to his new digs, and the party was still going on when I was coming in to work this morning.

It IS that big of a deal ... East Biloxi deserves fine improvements and this is one way to get it done.

Sunburn

Yesterday, I was blessed to be able to spend about two hours with my daughter, Lola, at the pool. I was NOT blessed with a sunburn. It HURTS! So, my soft side is in 'complaint mode' today. I deserve it, to be sure, though. I've tanned well-enough this year, but, sadly, not enough !!!

Kroc Center

If you've listened to the show, Kipp's original on-air challenge to get the station two thousand Facebook likes has been met. As a result, I'll be mowing Yankie Stadium at the Kroc Center next week.

Glad to do it. Love what the Kroc Center does and the improvements to its community that have happened.

Well now - what in the devil have I been doing that I've not been expounding on SOMETHING here on my Blog? The ORIGINAL Bag-O-Donuts Blog, that is ...

Not too much going on that I care to comment about, but the wings on many things are beginning to unfurl and I'm feeling a little verbally froggy.

Summer on the Coast

It's not QUITE here as of this writing, but it's coming soon enough. And I look forward to EVERY day that I live here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

My daughter, Lola, and I like to go to the beach. If it were up to her little six-year-old heart, we'd be there every day, all day. I love it (and her) enough to do that when I have the time. I've enjoyed baiting seagulls with Ritz® Crackers; capturing small unsuspecting beach creatures for Lola to see and hold (and run away from, too) and experience; and taking pictures at the beach. To me, any beach that I go to on the Coast is a great beach. Sure, I love going to some of the other beaches that are within driving distance (Gulf Shores is a favorite of mine; Pensacola/Ft. Walton, where I have relatives; and so on), but I'd rather stay here close to home and have fun with people that I know at places that I know.

Opinions

I write and produce about ten newscasts every morning before the sun comes up. I enjoy it, to be sure, but it's sometimes difficult for me to write or record news and keep my somewhat assertive opinions to themselves.

It's not that I feel like my opinion is more important than the news, per se - rather, I just sometimes can't believe the things that people do. Crazy stuff. Hard to be judgemental sometimes !!!

Still, I suffer on ...

The Weather

Actually, it's my adult profession: being a Meteorologist. Alas, that's not what I do anymore.

Except in the case of last week. I bring this up to bring THIS up: Ed Ring is RARELY missing here at the studios. He's always here. So color me confused when, for the first time since I've been here, his forecasts were not recorded on a recent Monday morning.

It turns out that, over the previous weekend, Ed had suffered a cardiac event.

He's doing VERY well (back at work, too) and his prognosis is great. With one stent placed, he's feeling better and ready to resume all activities.

Keep Ed in your prayers, if you would. He deserves a little unspoken support !!!
